I don’t know about you, but I think what someone carries in their purse says a lot about them, and how clean (or messy!) says a lot too. I have to say I clean out my bag frequently, and like to keep it tidy. My wallet, however, is full of receipts that need to be filed… Today I’m going to share my personal must haves for my knitting bag!
First off, my knitting bag itself! I recently got a Namaste Harlow bag. I already have a needle case, small pouch, and lots the snap bags, so I thought it was time to invest in a real knitting bag. I LOVE this bag! It has lots of pockets, and when I’m traveling I put the strap on it and it’s perfect as a carry on. This is my go-to knitting bag, and I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to my old college canvas tote.
And what’s inside my bag? Another bag of course! I love this Pacman box bag from A Needle Runs Through It. I think it’s the lime green zipper with the heavy zipper pull that seals the deal for me.
I love the ChiaoGoo Red Lace Interchangeable set because of the vinyl cords. They never kink and uncoil as soon as you take them out of the bag. I also love that the needles and each needle slot is labelled! These are my everyday, go-to needles.
I don’t crochet much, but when I saw these Knitter’s Pride Waves hooks I just had to get them! I love the pink case and the beautiful colors of the hooks! I have used these to crochet some edgings and bind offs, and I really love the plastic handles. So much that I’m thinking about moving away from my metal needles, and switching to a material that isn’t so hard.
And, last but not least, everyone needs their notions! I love my Nancy’s Knit Knacks case, a variety of stitch markers, my HiyaHiya puppy snips, and my Chibi needles. I also usually carry a tape measure (or three), but forgot to take a picture of those!
Please note, I wasn’t paid by any of these companies to write this post, and this is just me sharing my love of knitting tools! Since most of the projects that I knit are patterns and samples I don’t have a chance to knit with yarn I buy, so I find myself collecting tools and gadgets instead! Do you have a favorite tool I should try? Leave me a comment and let me know!
