A few months ago Becca from the Bagsmith told me about her new product, the Apple Creek Felt Pelt. She described it to me as a sheet of pre-felt. I didn’t tell her this, but I didn’t really know what she was talking about! Then I got some in the mail, and I was still a little lost. It was beautiful with all it’s color variation, but what the heck was I supposed to do with it? I played with it some, and made this weird necklace thing. I kind of like it, but I also know it’s not really me.
Then I saw Terri Rosenthal’s Madyson Caplet, and I loved her technique of cutting and folding the felt to create little flowers. As much as I loved the caplet again, it wasn’t really something I could see myself wearing. Living in North Carolina it just doesn’t get cold enough here for something that warm! So, I created this pillow pattern!
A disclaimer, I didn’t name the pattern, so please don’t think I’m so full of myself! I am flattered that Becca thinks it’s lovely though! Mari’s Lovely Pillow is available as an individual pattern (or better yet) buy the kit and get the pattern a half sheet of Apple Creek Felt Pelt, and a skein of Apple Creek Chunky Yarn–everything you need to make a pillow of your own!
As a side note Brian keeps asking me if he can lay on this pillow. I really love it, and I’m not sure I’m ready for his sweaty head to rest on it… It goes so well with our grey leather couch, now I just need another one to match!
