WIP Wednesday: Current Obsessions

posted in: WIP, WIP wednesday | 4

I have two current obsessions. The first is lotion bars. I’ve been obsessed with them for a while now. I started using coconut oil last fall, but with summers all of my coconut oil turned liquified, and so I made the switch to lotion bars! I tried making my own, and although they are nice these that I just got from Milk+Honey are so much better! I’m not sure if I wasn’t using enough essential oils or what, but these smell so good! Crochet Flowers & Milk+Honey lotion by Mari Knits

My other current obsession is these crochet flowers. Personally I found this tutorial for the African Crochet Flowers hard to follow because they weren’t written in a format that made sense to me, but now that I’ve figured them out I’m totally obsessed! I want to make a pillow with them. I haven’t yet crocheted the last round of edging on these, which I’m pretty sure I’m going to do in white.

I’ve been using a mix of sport weight yarns in 7 colors. I wanted to make sure to not use too many colors, so that the flowers would look unified. I’m also making sure that no two are identical. These are so much fun to make! Each one takes about 10 minutes, so I’ve been using them as rewards for finishing less-fun tasks during the day.

The only downside to these flowers…ALL THOSE ENDS.

What are you working on? Obsessed with anything I should know about?

Love the flowers and the pillow idea, however, I’m not quite sure how you will work the lotion bar into it. :-) I would be very interested to see the end result.

I got mine from Milkandhoneysoap.com You just rub it on your skin and it melts in. It’s magical!
