It seems like a really long time ago when I knit these, and you may have already seen these, but with Fall knitting upon us and the Louet Blog Tour it’s about time I write about my two patterns in the Louet Fall 2014 Collection!
Coleen is a lovely jacket knit in Gems Worsted. It’s shown here with 3/4 length sleeves, but you could easily lengthen the sleeves and it’d make a great jacket that you could wear throughout the winter in warmer places (like here in the south!). This sweater marks the beginning of my i-cord obsession. It has i-cord edgings and I love the clean finished look. It’s easy to do, too!
The body of the jacket is knit in a lovely textured stitch to give it weight and movement. I love the feel and look of the stitch combined with the soft and comfy Gems!
The second is Matterhorn, a wonderful cabled pattern that can be knit in the round for a cowl or knit flat for a scarf. It’s a fairly easy pattern to memorize, so it makes a great portable knitting project. I actually really want to make another of these cowls for myself…
Louet has been generous to offer a Matterhorn kit for a giveaway! The kit includes yarn and pattern to knit either the scarf or cow. To enter leave a comment on this blog telling me if you’ve started your fall knitting projects yet. I’ll pick one lucky winner on Sept 1!
