Louet Giveaway!

posted in: knit design | 68

It seems like a really long time ago when I knit these, and you may have  already seen these, but with Fall knitting upon us and the Louet Blog Tour it’s about time I write about my two patterns in the Louet Fall 2014 Collection!

Coleen is a lovely jacket knit in Gems Worsted. It’s shown here with 3/4 length sleeves, but you could easily lengthen the sleeves and it’d make a great jacket that you could wear throughout the winter in warmer places (like here in the south!). This sweater marks the beginning of my i-cord obsession. It has i-cord edgings and I love the clean finished look. It’s easy to do, too!

WebRes-03321

The body of the jacket is knit in a lovely textured stitch to give it weight and movement. I love the feel and look of the stitch combined with the soft and comfy Gems!

WebRes-03344

The twisted rib on the back helps give it that figure flatting cinch right at the smallest part of your body–just below the bust. WebRes-03357

The second is Matterhorn, a wonderful cabled pattern that can be knit in the round for a cowl or knit flat for a scarf. It’s a fairly easy pattern to memorize, so it makes a great portable knitting project. I actually really want to make another of these cowls for myself…

Seeing your free cowl pattern started me on my fall knitting a few weeks ago. What a fun project it has been. It really got me in the mood. I really like both of your new patterns. Either would be good for winter here in Texas. Thanks again.

I’m still mostly in the planning stages for serious fall & winter knitting — I have several projects that I need to make for friends, and a sweater I want to start, but work just keeps getting in the way of knitting!

I am also in the planning stages for fall and winter knitting. Should I make slippers for all the grandkids? Sweaters for me? A tote bag? A shawl? Too any ideas floating through my head! Right now, I’m working on warm purple striped socks and daydreaming,

I’m about halfway on a shawl “Nymphalidea” that is in fall colors and navy blue! Fall knitting for me = christmas knitting, which I haven’t started yet! Hopefully soon! One of these kits would knit up into a wonderful gift!

I am in the middle of my 1st fall project. it a hat to go with a pair of mittens for the kindergarden class our knitting group adopts each year. one of the ladies in our group daughter teaches kindergarden and we knit 25 to 30 sets of mittens and hats for her class each year. it is a fun way to start off the winter knitting knowing that the cheery colorful hats will be on a whole bunch of smiling 5 year olds this winter.

I seem to have been doing fall knitting all summer long! During the hottest days I had the craving to cast on for chunky shawls, so I knit two of them. I also knit a tunic-length sweater with a huge cowl and I’m in the process of finishing another sweater. Clearly, I don’t knit with the seasons 🙂 The cowl looks wonderful, and would be perfect for fall. Thank you, and fingers crossed!

Your web site has inspired me to get strated on fall knitting projects, such as the cabled cowl. We have 3 granddaughters who will be delighted to have their neck embraced with such a beautiful cowl. I shall be the happiest one of all, having made it for them.

Yes, I finally started my fall knitting. I’m working on a new shawl but I am waiting for some Mountain Colors wool ribbon yarn. I’ve got a 45th class reunion and want to have a Mobius cowl in beautiful fall colors for that late September date. I have a deadline so once the cowl and shawl are finished, it is off to other new fall/winter projects. I hate the cold but love fall yarn colors and textures. Umm, YUMMMY!

I’ve been doing fall knitting all summer – it’s almost my only time to knit. So far I’ve finished three cowls and two pairs of fingerless mitts. Gave several of them away, so now I’m in trouble! I would love to knit this for myself and try cables for the first time.

I have started with dishcloths and will work up to cowls and shawls and a few hats and scarves for the gentlemen in my life! Also a few baby blankets that need to be finished for after the New Year! All in all, new yarns, new patterns are always a wonderful thing to experience and I love that about this wonderful craft! thank you for the opportunity of this contest!

I live in Tucson, AZ where buildings are painted turquoise, yellow, red, bright pink, etc. Wonderful inspiration for knitting. This has been my year of the sock. Also making a delightful shawl with yarn that was made for me in the colors of my calico cats (tan, orange and black on a cream background). I made a linen/cotton mix sweater which can be worn all year round here in the desert. Sitting here looking at yarn for a poncho. I hear ponchos are very “in” this year.
