Solitude Slippers

Now that it’s getting cold out I’m realizing it’s time to break out the slippers, and what could be better than super cozy hand knit slippers?

Last month a new pattern of mine came out through Solitude Wool, the Solitude Thrummed Slippers. The pattern can be purchased on Ravelry here, or you can buy the kit and get everything you need–including roving, to make these slippers! Buy the kit from Solitude Wool here.

These extra busy, extra cozy slippers are made from Solitude Wool Icelandic, a lovely hairy wool held doubled, and knit with border leicester thrums. Then the slipper is felted, so in addition to getting massaging from the thrums you also have the extra thick felted fabric.

webres-7362I love the thrums, to me they look a little bit like little hearts all over the slippers!

If you’ve never knit thrums before don’t worry, I’ve created a video that shows you how to make the thrums and knit them into your slippers.
