Best Baby Socks

posted in: baby | 1

Back when I was still pregnant I blogged abut making baby socks out of SilverSpun. If you missed it, you can read the posts and find the (free) patterns I used here. Dash was born with giant feet, so the tiny ones I knit never fit him. He’s been wearing the larger ones quite a bit, and I’m afraid he’s about to grow out of them! So I thought I’d better take a photo while they still fit.

These socks are great! The yarn is super soft, and the socks have held up really well. They’ve been machine washed at least a dozen times, and even accidentally went through the dryer a couple of times, and they still look brand new! My favorite part is how elastic they are thanks to the lycra in the SilverSpun, so they stretch and stay on his feet really well.

I’m planning on knitting up some mittens with this yarn for Dash too, and I’m already working on a super-stretchy and cozy hat!

Your little socks are so cute. This blog came at the perfect time for me. I have a grand-daughter, who will be 6 months in a few days, and I’m finding knitting the right size a challenge. Having to mail everything doesn’t help. I should probably knit for the future instead of now. She will always grow, eventually.
